The athletic experience is integral to a Children of Peace School education. Through interscholastic and intramural competition, lifetime sports and activities, and a fitness program, the school seeks to build character, to instill team values, and to advocate a life-long commitment to positive physical and emotional habits.
On the court, as in the classroom, Children of Peace promotes leadership, teaches sportsmanship, and aims to inspire a pursuit of excellence. We offer both a junior varsity and varsity basketball program for both boys and girls. We also offer a junior varsity and varsity co-ed volleyball program.
The Chess Club gives students an opportunity to play friendly games of chess against their peers in a low-stress environment. Students of all levels are welcome to come, as help is given to those who need it. Chess variants are sometimes played.
Chess Club also offers chess quizzes, chess puzzles and problems, sometimes with a prize for the winner!
Community service is an integral part of a student’s life at Children of Peace Catholic School. Through personal interactions and projects, students develop an understanding and sense of responsibility about their school community, the surrounding neighborhood and the entire world. Beginning in Kindergarten, students engage in daily responsibilities such as bringing Lower School attendance to the office.
Throughout the year, Children of Peace Catholic School students embrace a philosophy of giving to organizations such as Feed My Starving Children, where our students helped prepare meals for children in poor countries.
Children of Peace Catholic School’s students individually select to volunteer for organizations that have significance to our community and the world.
The Children of Peace Gospel Choir: This program is available to students in Grades 2-8 who are interested in furthering their vocal talents. Members meet during school hours and learn spiritual and Gospel selections. The choir performs at some school events and also selected performances at other schools and/or churches.
Our activities are run by school staff members, partner organization and parent volunteers. As new resources become available, we are always adding new activities. We also invite current and new families to partner with us, by volunteering their time and talents to our school community.
