Who does Children of Peace enroll?

Students ages 3 through 8th grade.

What is the admissions process?

Prospective families can schedule a school tour. Interested families must submit an application and $150 non‐refundable application fee. Students applying for Pre‐k and Montessori can choose to shadow for a half‐day. Student in grades Kindergarten ‐ 8 can choose to shadow for a full day.

What documents are required at the time of application?

A legal birth certificate; copy of baptismal certificate (if applicable) . Transfer students must also submit report cards from their current school and any other pertinent documents related to the students´ academic history.

When should I apply?

Applications for the current school year are accepted year round, dependent on space availability.

What is the age requirement to start pre‐k?

A student seeking entrance into the pre‐k program must be three years old by September 1st in the year of enrollment.

What is the age requirement to start kindergarten?

A student seeking entrance into the kindergarten program must be five years old by September 1st in the year of enrollment.

Does Children of Peace have an entrance exam?

No. Prospective students do not take an entrance exam.

What type of school is Children of Peace?

Children of Peace is a Catholic school operated under the auspices of the Catholic Bishop of Chicago, a corporation sole, in the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Does Children of Peace accept students who do not practice the Catholic Faith?

Children of Peace School welcomes students and families of all faiths.

What are the school hours?

School hours are Monday ‐ Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Does Children of Peace have an extended day program?

Yes. There is a before and after school program that runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for an additional fee.

Do you provide lunch?

Yes. There is a lunch program provided through Food Service Professionals. Students may also bring a lunch.

When does the school year begin?

The school year generally begins the 3rd week of August.

Is financial aid available?

Yes. Financial aid maybe available for families who qualify and have children enrolled in grades 1 ‐ 8. We strive to help every family afford our school. We believe tuition is an investment in the school, and use that money to better the education of our students. We understand that some families cannot afford the full tuition and we work with families to help find scholarships and financial aid. We have a limited scholarship fund that families can apply for and there is no guarantee that if you apply you will receive financial aid.

Is there a summer program?

There is a six‐week summer program available for students in grades pre‐k ‐ 8 for an additional fee.
