Phyllis & Arlene: A Sign of Hope
At long last the extended family of Holy Trinity School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (including Children of Peace School, Rush University Medical Center, The Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Chicago, Notre Dame of Chicago Parish and the world of deaf education in the Chicago area) is coming together to honor the work of Phyllis Winter and Arlene Redmond. The Winter Redmond Scholarship Fund will launch at A Sign of Hope on March 31 and will provide tuition assistance for the school going forward.
Msgr. Pat Pollard, pastor of Notre Dame of Chicago Parish, has been closely associated with the school for over ten years. “There are many dedicated people in the world of Catholic education but even among those Phyllis and Arlene stand out as remarkable. They have given their lives — between them over a hundred years — as compassionate leaders in their field. It has been a great privilege to serve with them.”
